Thankful for you (and for moving a little more gently into fall)
Thanksgiving is almost here, and I want to start with something simple: Thank You!
Running The Alchemy of Water in Fernie means I get to know people over time: how they are feeling, what their body is holding, and what has changed since the last time they were on the table. I don’t take that trust lightly. Thank You for showing up, for letting me work with you, and for sending friends and family my way. Most clients still find me by word of mouth.
Now, about this time of year. If you have been feeling heavier, stiffer, or slower to get going in the morning, you are not imagining it. The light comes later, leaves earlier, and the body takes a while to reset its rhythm around that. We quiet a little, move a little less.
Your lymphatic system has no pump of its own. It depends on movement, breath, and gentle muscle activity to keep fluid flowing. So when life slows down and we tuck in for the season, that flow can slow down too. It's one of the reasons I love this work in the fall. A little support for that flow can help the transition feel easier.
Lately, some of the kindest words have come from clients who've been through a lot. D, who lived with post-concussion symptoms and whiplash for nine years, wrote that they'd tried "every pain management treatment I could think of" before finding the Fluid Brain Connection work. It combines myofascial and connective tissue techniques with lymphatic drainage. Being part of that journey is an honour. See their full review below.
L shared: "The best facial I've ever had… The connective tissue and lymphatic drainage work are making a difference."
And R, who lives with lymphedema, wrote: "I am fortunate to have a lymph drainage therapist in this small city and she has been such a help to me."
Reading these, I'm reminded why I do this.
One more thing that made me smile. Recently, a practitioner from another discipline reached out to ask what I have been doing. She had been noticing real changes in her own clients who were also coming to see me. Being asked, not just noticed, felt like a true compliment, and a reminder of something I see often: lymphatic drainage is frequently the missing link. It helps clear what other modalities can stir up, which is one reason care is better when practitioners work with each other.
So, as we head into Thanksgiving and the busy stretch that follows, remember to give yourself a little extra care. If you have been meaning to book, or you would like to get in before the holiday season fills the calendar, I would love to see you.
With love and gratitude,
Vanessa
